He lived
During the Classical era
Of One Hundred Schools
Of Thought.

In a Society Where
Philosophy was Revered
He introduced a form
Of Buddhism we call Zen.

Along those dusty Roads
Chuang Tzu Wrestled
With the Tao, others, and himself
In the Shadow of Confucius. 

Now, we read Chuang Tzu
Seeking Lucidity
Under the Ominous Pall
Of 21st Century Western Culture.

Trusting in the Guttering
Light of an Ancient Spiritual
Mystical, and Aesthetic Tradition
To Show the Way.
